By closely following key agricultural production development programs and goals, taking advantage of central programs and projects, and successfully transferring many new technical advances, agricultural extension activities in the province in 2023 achieved remarkable results, contributing to rapidly increasing productivity and product quality, promoting sustainable agricultural production and environmental protection. Promoting the achieved results, in 2024, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center is determined to effectively implement agricultural extension programs and projects.

Outstanding results are achieved in programs and models such as: raising safe organic pigs for meat in association with product consumption linkage; intensive cattle farming, cattle herd improvement program; organic rice production using tray seedlings, transplanters linked with product consumption linkage; intensive durian cultivation in accordance with VietGAP; indigenous dwarf banana cultivation; raising climbing fish in cages; intensive 2-phase whiteleg shrimp farming; raising whales in ponds; intensive afforestation of large-scale hybrid acacia trees; agroforestry; converting hybrid acacia forests from small to large timber; building forestry nurseries applying improved technology...

The Provincial Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with the Provincial FMCR Project Management Board to provide technical training and direct the successful implementation of 18 coastal livelihood models such as: red rice cultivation model; natural rice cultivation; organic planting of taro, watermelon, nettle, squash, lotus; cow breeding model; biosafety free-range chicken; shrimp-crab intercropping; traditional fish sauce processing... bringing high efficiency, increasing income, improving life, protecting the environment, better managing local coastal community forests...

In particular, the center has organized the implementation of an organic rice production model and biomass corn planting with product consumption linked with Quang Tri Trading Corporation purchasing in the field, creating an exciting atmosphere, motivating people to confidently expand production.

The Center also successfully organized many training, coaching, information and propaganda activities, forums and seminars. The Agricultural Extension Center plays the role of a bridge between the State, scientific research agencies, farmers and the market, is a consulting system, disseminates knowledge, policies of the Party and the State, provides information, transfers scientific and technological advances, and production and business experiences to farmers.

Agricultural extension officers have directly grasped information about needs, aspirations, and problems arising from production practices, advised leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and authorities at all levels to have a basis for planning policies and strategies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. At the same time, they actively participated in grasping the situation of directing production, handling and preventing epidemics and natural disasters, minimizing losses...

Promoting the achieved results, in 2024, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center will mobilize all capital sources from the state budget to invest in agricultural extension activities with higher quality and efficiency. Promote the application of science and technology according to organic processes, VietGAP, food safety associated with product consumption linkage, and environmental friendliness. Actively help farmers change crop structure to achieve higher economic value.

Implement the intensive farming and fruit tree improvement program associated with product consumption linkage. Promote programs and models of biosafety and disease-free livestock farming, ensuring environmental hygiene; continue to implement the cattle herd improvement program, improve the quality and yield of beef; encourage concentrated farm farming models in the organic direction, ensuring quality and food hygiene and safety associated with product consumption linkage.

In the forestry sector, implement programs to plant large-scale timber forests using hybrid acacia species, convert small-scale forests to large-scale timber, agroforestry, etc. Strengthen training associated with models to propagate and disseminate to help people implement the correct techniques; combine forest planting with forest management and protection. In the aquaculture sector, continue to promote new farming models, farming of specialty aquatic species, farming according to VietGAP, focusing on biofloc and high-tech shrimp farming, promoting disease prevention and environmental safety.

Closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities to effectively implement national target programs. Continue to propagate and popularize technical advances, promote agricultural products, strengthen the linkage between the four houses; coordinate with mass media agencies to strengthen propaganda on agricultural extension models.

Continue to provide professional training for commune-level agricultural extension staff, community agricultural extension teams; key farmers, expand and promote technical training programs, rural vocational training, increase seminars, surveys and experience learning activities in and outside the province. Strengthen consulting and provide information on agricultural product consumption markets for farmers. Strengthen propaganda work, raise awareness for people, help change thinking in production. Focus on transferring science and technology, implementing appropriate and effective models.

Strengthen coordination with departments, branches, associations, local authorities and agencies, enterprises, and organizations in charge of projects... in implementing agricultural extension activities to achieve high efficiency. Carry out well the work of selecting points and households to implement models, develop plans to implement each program and model in a scientific and specific manner; strengthen the work of inspecting and supervising the process of organizing and implementing agricultural extension programs at the grassroots level. Carry out well the work of synthesizing and reporting results periodically and suddenly, fully and promptly, in order to make proposals and recommendations to superiors on necessary issues serving production.

Therefore, in 2024, the staff of the Agricultural Extension Center will strive to overcome all difficulties, constantly learn to improve their professional qualifications, regularly update new knowledge, closely follow the actual production situation of farmers; apply the correct technical process, at the same time promote creativity, specifically in each demonstration point to build appropriate technical processes, ensuring the model achieves the highest results.
