Musician Nhuan Phu wrote the song Vietnam Era Rising Up after meeting poet Nguyen Van Khoi. “Hearing the meaningful verses as well as the heartfelt sharing of author Nguyen Van Khoi, I suddenly thought that it would be a mistake not to put the work to music.
After 2 days of great concentration, I completed the song in the spirit of a Vietnamese citizen who is extremely proud of the country and its people before the great historical event of the nation. I was very happy when I sent the music to the author Nguyen Van Khoi, he was quite pleased and satisfied,'' musician Nhuan Phu confided.
MV "Vietnam, the era of rising up":
Very passionate about the new work, musician Nhuan Phu invited two musicians, Ha Trung and Pham Viet Tuan, to arrange two different versions of the song. She also invited singer Tung Duong - a close cousin - to perform this work.
When asked why it was Tung Duong's voice and not anyone else's, perhaps the female musician wanted to be 'both economical and effective', she smiled and said: ''Tung Duong is my younger brother but also like a teacher to me. With the song Vietnam Era Rising, I think only Tung Duong's powerful and wide-ranging voice can convey the spirit of the song''.
On his part, Tung Duong expressed his excitement for musician Nhuan Phu's new work. The male singer confided: ''Ms. Nhuan Phu is my uncle's daughter. My childhood was accompanied by my two uncles and Ms. Nhuan Phu. I am always grateful for the times when my parents went to Russia to live and work, while I stayed in Vietnam to be cared for and loved by my two uncles and my brothers and sisters.
It was fate that when I grew up, I chose to pursue a singing career and Nhuan Phu also had a great love for composing. Every time she wrote a new song, whether she intended for me to sing it or not, Nhuan Phu would send it to me because she wanted to hear comments from her close friend, me.
With Vietnam - The Era of Rising Up, right from the moment I received the song manuscript, I was captivated by the meaningful lyrics. The arrangements of the two musicians Ha Trung and Pham Viet Tuan are also two different colors but they both share the same pride in the song praising the country. I hope the song will reach the public, encouraging the spirit of everyone joining hands to build the country, entering a new era of the nation.
Before the MV Vietnam Era Rising Up , author Nhuan Phu had released to the public the songs "Nothingness" and "Sacred Quang Tri" based on the poem by Bui Thanh Ha, which won the Encouragement Prize in the songwriting contest with the theme "Quang Tri - Faith and Aspiration" in 2023.
Author Nhuan Phu studied at the Hanoi College of Arts and the Military University of Culture and Arts. She currently works at the Cau Giay Center for Culture, Information , Sports and Tourism in Hanoi. ''I am planning to release the MV Hanoi at the Season's Eve in October, based on the poem by Hong Thanh Quang.
