The latest information comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a blog post on January 10, Mr. Kuo said that the iPhone SE 4 will be released around the middle of the first half of 2025, specifically around the end of the first quarter of the year. This means that the next iPhone SE model will be released in March or April 2025, similar to previous versions.

Kuo did not reveal any other details about the new iPhone SE, which could be called the “iPhone 16E” or something similar.

Another recent leak suggested that the device would launch alongside iOS 18.3, which is expected to be released in late January. However, this was quickly dismissed by Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman, who said that Apple is aiming to release the device before April. Kuo's timing also suggests that March or April is more likely than January.

Design and features

The new iPhone SE is expected to have a similar design to the standard iPhone 14. Rumored features include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, a newer A-series chip and 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, and Apple's first 5G modem.

It's unclear whether the device will feature an Action button (first seen on the iPhone 15 Pro).

The current iPhone SE has a similar design to the iPhone 8, with outdated features like the Touch ID button, Lightning port, and thick screen bezels.

The starting price for the current iPhone SE is $429, but it's likely that the price will increase slightly for the next iPhone SE model.

Thus, the iPhone SE 4 or possibly called the iPhone 16E is likely to launch in March or April 2025, with a more modern design, powerful hardware, and significant improvements that promise to refresh the iPhone SE line, which has maintained the old design for many years.
