Hanoi City Market Management Department coordinated with relevant agencies to organize the second phase of destruction in 2023 of about 1.5 tons of counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods not allowed to circulate on the market. The value of the destroyed goods in this phase is about 4 billion VND.
According to statistics, the 1.5 tons of goods destroyed in the second phase included: 1,816 packs of cigarettes (10kg); 6 boxes of firecrackers (about 20kg); 10 N2O gas cylinders (about 600kg); 8 wall and desk clocks (30kg); 310kg of mask production paper and 1 used mask production machine; 1,035 used mobile phones and tablets.
Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Market Management Department, informed that the violating goods subject to destruction are poor quality products, counterfeit products, banned products and products harmful to health and the environment... circulating on the market, seized and handled by the authorities according to regulations.
The destruction is carried out and closely monitored by the Destruction Handling Council including: Representatives of the Hanoi City Market Management Department, the Department of Finance, the People's Procuracy, and the Economic Security Department - Hanoi City Police.
Previously, on March 10, the Hanoi Market Management Department coordinated with relevant agencies to destroy about 15 tons of counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods not allowed to circulate on the market in the first phase of 2023. The value of the goods destroyed in this phase was over 8.4 billion VND.
