A survey conducted by reporters from Kinh tế & Đô thị (Economy & Urban Affairs) at sanitary ware suppliers on Hoang Quoc Viet, Cat Linh, and Lang streets... shows that customers are increasingly looking to buy high-end sanitary ware. This is because, after the rainy season and the effects of storms, many families are experiencing odor problems from their bathrooms due to various reasons such as increased humidity and overloaded drainage systems, forcing them to renovate.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (35 years old, Thanh Xuan district) shared that the recent rainy season was probably the most difficult and unpleasant time for his family. The rainwater seeped into the walls, causing problems with the family's drainage system, and the bathroom smelled bad...

"Because the fixtures had been used for a long time, they quickly deteriorated, became unstable, and constantly broke down, hindering our family's daily life. When I called the store to request repairs, I was advised to renovate and waterproof them. After spending time researching the sanitary fixtures, including their styles, models, and prices, I finally decided to 'spend the money'," Mr. Tuan shared.

Mr. Minh, the owner of a sanitary ware business on Cat Linh Street, said that in previous years, going to supermarkets and building materials showrooms was a popular choice for consumers, but this has now changed. The demand for ordering online to receive promotions and save time is no longer uncommon.

"With 7-10 million VND, customers can own a complete bathroom set, from washbasins, sanitary ware, shower heads, mirrors, and accompanying accessories from high-end sanitary ware manufacturers such as TOTO, Cotto... and if there are promotions on e-commerce platforms, the discounts will be even deeper," said Mr. Minh.

Furthermore, consumers now prefer smart sanitary products with full features and technology to meet their high demands. For example, sanitary products such as toilets and showers are now equipped with smart technology, allowing remote control via mobile applications. Smart toilets have functions such as automatic washing, drying, and temperature adjustment.

Or, products incorporating water-saving technology are becoming increasingly popular, such as sensor faucets and toilets with smart flushing systems, which help reduce water consumption while maintaining efficiency...

In this context, leading brands, especially foreign brands such as TOTO, LIXIL, CAESAR, KOHLER, etc., have been dominating the market for high-end, smart sanitary ware.

The increasing variety of high-end sanitary ware products reflects the diversity of the domestic sanitary ware market. This is also a positive sign for manufacturers looking to reach a wider range of customers.

However, many retailers also shared that the market has seen the emergence of many sanitary products and equipment of unknown origin, posing a health risk to users due to substandard materials such as faucets and showerheads mixed with many toxic impurities, all at surprisingly low prices. Therefore, depending on the price range, consumers should make reasonable choices to avoid buying low-quality products.

Architect Ngo Tam from COVIC Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company stated that the sanitary ware market is not lacking in counterfeit and low-quality products. On e-commerce platforms, unbranded products or those sold at excessively low prices are often fakes or imitations, usually made from cheap materials that are easily damaged, peel, or quickly become dirty. Quality products usually come with safety certifications and warranties.

"There have been many cases where people have lost money and suffered consequences after purchasing goods, receiving products that don't match the advertisements, or receiving counterfeit, low-quality, or products of unknown origin after installation and use. To protect yourself, research thoroughly before making a purchase, choose reputable suppliers, and don't hesitate to ask for information about the product," said architect Ngo Tam.
