Thuong Duc commune (comprising the former Dai Lan, Dai Hung, and Dai Son communes) is located upstream of the Vu Gia River, at the western gateway connecting Da Nang with surrounding areas along National Highway 14B.
At the workshop, presentations focused on clarifying the outstanding advantages of Thuong Duc, emphasizing the role of the Thuong Duc Victory Monument and the Go Dinh archaeological site in preserving heritage in conjunction with tourism development.
Experts believe these are crucial "nuclei" for creating tourism products that are rich in historical significance, combining traditional education and cultural experiences.
In addition, delegates also shared their perspectives on preserving river basin ecosystems and planning public spaces to promote community economic development.
One notable item discussed was the draft plan "Preserving and promoting cultural values and historical relics associated with sustainable tourism development in Thuong Duc commune, giai đoạn 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2045".
The project initially aims to shape the tourism development space by connecting destinations, building distinctive products, and encouraging the participation of local people.
The project aims to establish a system of six distinct tourism product clusters, including: historical site tourism (Thuong Duc Victory Monument), archaeological and spiritual tourism (Go Dinh), architectural and clan tourism (Tra clan church), experiential agricultural tourism (Thai Chan Son), community tourism (Yeu Village), and large-scale event and sports tourism (40-hectare beach).
The project aims to attract approximately 100,000 visitors per year to Thuong Duc by 2030, with 100% of tourism service establishments committing to not using single-use plastics and creating jobs for at least 300 workers.

During the discussion, many opinions suggested developing Thuong Duc according to the "touchpoint destination" model, where tourists can experience diversity ranging from history and culture to nature and community life.
At the same time, preserving biodiversity, traditional crafts, and promoting local values are considered key factors in creating differentiation and sustainability for tourism in Thuong Duc.
The workshop serves as a forum for connecting and consulting with stakeholders to finalize the project "Preserving and promoting cultural values and historical relics associated with sustainable tourism development in Thuong Duc commune, giai đoạn 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2045".
Therefore, the goal is to transform Thuong Duc into a new tourist destination, developing harmoniously between conservation and exploitation, and contributing to the overall tourism landscape of the city.
