( Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Over the past month, many products and businesses from Quang Ngai have participated in large-scale fairs and markets organized both within the province and abroad. Through these activities, the food industry of the An-Tra region has many opportunities to expand and win over consumers.

The Taipei International Food Fair is one of Asia's leading food trade fairs, held annually. This year's fair, co-organized by the Trade Promotion Bureau ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), took place from June 26-29 at the Taipei Nankang Exhibition Center. The fair brought together over 5,000 booths from 2,000 domestic and international businesses and buyers from 33 countries worldwide. Many countries with strong food industries were represented, including the United States, Canada, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Finland, France, and India.
Vietnam has 19 businesses participating in the fair; among them, Quang Ngai province has one, Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company. The exhibited and introduced product categories are very diverse, including agricultural products, raw and processed seafood, processed foods, and beverages. According to a representative of Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company, this event has strong appeal, effectively connecting food producers and businesses with domestic distribution systems and importers worldwide. Participating in the fair gives the company the opportunity to seek business deals and promote its national brands in the Taiwanese and global markets. This is also a practical activity that helps the company realize its strategy of exporting milk, confectionery, sugar, malt, and beer to Taiwan. At the same time, from the Taiwanese market, the company's products will continue to be transshipped and reach major markets around the world.
Expanding to rural markets
In 2024, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (under the Department of Industry and Trade) focused on innovating its trade promotion program. Notably, the "Bringing Vietnamese Goods to Rural Areas" market will be renamed "Selling Vietnamese Goods in Rural Areas" activities. Along with this, the Center will actively support households, businesses, and cooperatives in the province specializing in rural food production to bring quality goods to localities. This will promote rural industrial products in rural areas, creating opportunities for people to access and purchase quality goods that suit their preferences and consumption needs. The selection of event venues is also carefully considered to ensure both sufficient display space and convenient access for visitors and shoppers.

To date, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has organized two Vietnamese product sales points in rural areas, which have been evaluated as practical and effective. These are the sales points in Pho Chau commune (Duc Pho town) and Chau O town (Binh Son district). Mr. Dao Trong Muoi, Director of Muoi Quy Production, Trade and Service Co., Ltd., said: "We have participated in such events many times with Muoi Quy fish sauce. However, this time I noticed a significant change in the organization, which brought about a good effect. The space was suitable and the communication work before the event was emphasized. Especially, the awarding of honorary plaques to businesses, cooperatives, and households at the event served as recognition of consumer trust in the product. This created motivation for business owners and production facilities to continuously strive, innovate, and improve product quality."
Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Development Nguyen Trung Truc emphasized that over the past 10 years, the implementation of the "selling Vietnamese goods" program in rural areas has yielded positive results. However, to aim for new goals that are more aligned with the consumer culture of Vietnamese goods in rural areas, the Center will innovate this activity, contributing to encouraging production, stimulating consumption, and creating opportunities for rural products from Quang Ngai to reach further markets.
