The above content is one of the outstanding new points in the draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 44/2021 on the Regulations on enrollment, pre-university training; consideration of transfer to university and college level in Early Childhood Education, which has just been announced by the Ministry of Education and Training .
Accordingly, the draft has adjustments to the university preparatory training program, including the number of subjects, duration, and training content, including:
Add Computer Science as a compulsory subject in the cultural knowledge training program; allow students to choose with or without English and Computer Science; increase the study time for core subjects such as Math (8 periods/week), Literature (7 periods/week). Along with that, increase the content of practice, experiments and technology applications, especially artificial intelligence (AI).

The Ministry of Education and Training said that pre-university students are provided with cultural knowledge in three subjects according to the subject combination used for admission to pre-university schools (including Math, Literature, English, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology) and English and Information Technology.
The draft revised Circular builds subject combinations to foster cultural knowledge to ensure diversity and comprehensiveness, suitable for many choices of ethnic minority students: subject combinations without English and Informatics; subject combinations with English or Informatics; subject combinations with both English and Informatics.
With the new draft Circular, the program is flexibly designed with 70% mandatory content and 30% proactively developed by the school to suit the needs of students and the conditions of the school.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, when issued, the draft Circular will promote creativity in teaching and learning, positively impacting both teachers and students.
