With the permission of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, each year the Mormon Church sends 1-2 volunteer groups to support social activities at two group locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

On December 16, a delegation of volunteers from the Hanoi Branch of the Volunteer Training Center (MTC), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and staff from the Asia Regional Representative Office of the Mormon Church Charitable Center in Hong Kong (China) visited the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO).

The organization of welcoming and hosting the MTC volunteer delegation was an initiative of VUFO after a visit to the MTC Center of the Mormon Church in Utah, USA during the VUFO delegation's working trip and attending the International Conference on Religion and the Rule of Law organized by Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah from October 5-11.

This is a very practical and meaningful activity, thereby building relationships with volunteers who are "goodwill ambassadors" of Vietnam-US people-to-people exchange, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

At the reception, VUFO President Phan Anh Son gave an overview of Vietnam's development after 40 years of renovation, the foreign policies of the Party and State of Vietnam, the Vietnam-US relationship, introduced VUFO and its member friendship organizations, and the Vietnam-US people-to-people diplomacy activities carried out by VUFO.

Mr. Phan Anh Son informed you about Vietnam's policies and laws related to religion and about the situation of religions and religious activities in Vietnam.

The delegation exchanged and enjoyed Hanoi's culinary culture with young VUFO staff, visited Bat Trang Craft Village to experience traditional culture...

According to the exchange, MTC volunteers of the Mormon Church annually send volunteers to countries around the world to carry out volunteer social activities and support the religious activities of the Church in the host country.

In Vietnam, with the permission of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, each year the Mormon Church sends 1-2 volunteer groups to support the Church's activities at two meeting points in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2024, the MTC Center of the Mormon Church sent 14 young volunteers to Vietnam at the end of October to carry out volunteer missions for a period of two years.

Mr. Phan Anh Son, representing VUFO, expressed his gratitude for the support from the organizations in humanitarian projects in Vietnam and helping Vietnam rebuild and develop. He also hoped that through cooperation, the two sides would continue to create a better future for the community and promote long-term friendship between Vietnam and countries around the world.

At the end of the meeting, the young volunteers shared their experiences after a short time in Vietnam, showing their love for the people here as well as their desire to contribute to the program to build a better world.
