Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has just officially introduced Apple Pay payment method to customers using Vietcombank JCB international card. This is the next step in the strategy to promote digitalization of services and expand modern, convenient and secure payment experience for users.

Apple Pay is a digital payment method developed by Apple, allowing users to make payments in stores, on apps or online without using a physical card.

Users simply double-press the side button, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, then hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the contactless-symbol reader to complete the transaction. All transactions are encrypted and protected by a unique one-time authentication code.

In addition to convenience, security and privacy are the core elements that Apple Pay brings. According to Vietcombank, when users add a JCB international card to Apple Pay, the actual card information is not stored on the device or Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account code is created, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element - a chip that meets industry security standards.

Ms. Doan Hong Nhung, Director of Vietcombank Retail Division shared: "Vietcombank officially continues to expand Apple Pay to JCB international cardholders, affirming our commitment to promoting digitalization of banking operations, while providing customers with a modern, flexible and secure payment experience. As one of the first banks in Vietnam to provide Apple Pay for both international and domestic cards - including Visa, JCB and Napas cards - we will continue to expand the integration of other card brands to fully meet the needs of customers."

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When customers use their JCB international card with Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element - an industry-standard certified chip that securely stores payment information on the device.

Apple Pay is easy to set up. On iPhone, customers can add Vietcombank JCB international card to Apple Pay directly on the VCB Digibank app homepage by tapping the Apple Pay icon; or open the Wallet app, tap '+' and follow the instructions to add the card. After adding the card to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, customers can use Apple Pay on that device immediately.

When using Vietcombank JCB card with Apple Pay, in addition to special offers exclusively for Apple Pay (650K cashback when adding Vietcombank JCB card and spending on Apple Pay), customers still enjoy full incentives for Vietcombank JCB card such as: up to 30% discount at more than 100 restaurants in Vietnam...
