Havertz's injury poses a major challenge for Arsenal. |
According to The Guardian , Arsenal's medical team have not been able to determine the exact length of the 26-year-old's absence, but initial signs suggest that Havertz could be out for a long time.
Coach Mikel Arteta also said the team could not yet determine the severity of the injury, which made the player and the German Football Association (DFB) extremely worried. Normally, the results of the scan within a week will determine the player's condition.
However, Havertz's knee injury is considered very complicated. Arsenal will have to conduct further tests to assess the problem and decide on a solution. Meanwhile, Rudi Völler, Director of the DFB, confirmed that Havertz will miss the World Cup qualifiers in September.
He said there was a possibility of surgery for Havert. The German international picked up the injury after coming off the bench in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League opener. He then missed Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds on 23 August.
Arsenal's medical team are concerned that the striker has suffered a recurrence of his knee injury, a problem that often causes nightmares for many professional footballers. In February, Havertz also suffered a serious knee injury that ruled him out until the end of the 2024/25 season.
