During the program, leaders of the Con Dao Special Zone and the Command Board of Zone 6, along with representatives from local departments, agencies, and organizations, kindly visited, chatted with, and shared a meal with over 150 disadvantaged residents in the area. The simple meal, filled with warmth and affection, contributed to bringing joy, sharing, and renewed strength to the people in their lives.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Nguyen Anh Nhut, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Con Dao Special Zone, extended warm greetings to the local people and expressed his emotion at the affection shown by the officers and soldiers of PTKV 6 towards the people of Con Dao Special Zone.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Nhut affirmed that Con Dao is a land rich in traditions of compassion and solidarity, where every humane act, however small, contributes to igniting the flame of love, creating a strength of unity to overcome difficulties together and strive for a better life. "These warm meals will further strengthen the bonds of affection and reinforce the people's trust in the armed forces, the Party, and the local government," Comrade Nguyen Anh Nhut expressed.
At the program, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Luan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Command of Military Region 6, Con Dao Special Zone, affirmed: "We consider this a bridge connecting the feelings between the military and the people, a responsibility and also a source of pride for every soldier working in this remote island. The Command of Military Region 6 will continue to work alongside departments, organizations, and philanthropists to maintain the program, contributing to fostering a deep bond between the military and the people, aiming for a united, compassionate, and sustainably developed Con Dao."

Amidst the torrential rain of the rainy season on the island, the sight of soldiers shielding elderly women and men with umbrellas and helping them return home moved many people. Among those attending today's meal was Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh (born in 1963), who has lived on Con Dao Island for over 30 years.

Ms. Thanh shared that her family still faces many difficulties and regularly receives support and visits from the government and armed forces. Clasping the soldiers' hands before they left, she said emotionally, "Our Con Dao is small but full of kindness. Thanks to the care of the local authorities and the soldiers, the people always feel loved, and no one is left behind."
