Ms. Hang Thi Co, Po Si Ngai village, Ban Xeo commune, Bat Xat district shared: “After being informed, my husband loves me and my children more, takes better care of the family, and does not force me to have a son or a daughter, just having two is enough. When I was pregnant and about to give birth, I had to go to the hospital and give birth there.”
Po Si Ngai village has 98 households, 100% of whom are Mong people. The population is sparse, the roads are difficult to travel, and some backward customs still exist in life.

To change people's awareness, within the framework of Project 8 on "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children", a village community communication team was established. The 10 members of the team not only set an example but also actively propagate and mobilize people. In the past 2 years, 18 propaganda sessions on gender equality, prevention of early marriage and consanguineous marriage have been organized; 3 cases of early marriage were promptly prevented; 13 women were mobilized to give birth at medical facilities.
