Once completed, expected next July, the 55-meter-long, 11-meter-wide and 9-meter-high building will become a data center housing computer servers.
The concrete used is made from 100% recycled materials and will reduce CO2 emissions by 55% compared to pure Portland cement, the type of cement commonly used worldwide, said company director Hans-Joerg Kraus.
The building has a unique architecture with curved walls that are designed to withstand storms. The interior of the curved building will be handled by a robot from paint manufacturer Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke.
Similar 3D printing construction projects have been undertaken by other countries such as the Netherlands and China.
