On September 12, at the Reunification Hall, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, met with Mrs. Sam Mostyn, Governor General of Australia and her husband who are on a state visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, Mr. Tran Luu Quang highly appreciated the Australian Governor-General's visit and work in the city, considering this an important milestone, opening a new chapter for the cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to deepening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.

The Governor-General of Australia congratulated the Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day and the important achievements Vietnam has made, and congratulated Ho Chi Minh City on its strong, dynamic development and important contributions to the success of Vietnam's development.

Ms. Sam Mostyn affirmed that Australia always attaches importance to developing cooperative relations with Vietnam and expressed her delight at the strong development of bilateral partnerships in various fields. She shared the positive results of her visit to Vietnam and plans to develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, a large part of which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, the city is ready to elevate cooperative relations with Australian localities, first of all with the five states that have established friendly cooperative relations with Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the overall development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia.
