According to information from the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company, the power system has been under significant operational pressure over the past two days. By noon yesterday (May 26), the electricity consumption in the North alone had reached 29,594 MW.

Forecasts indicate that the peak power demand in the North tonight (May 27th) could reach 31,000-31,500 MW. National electricity consumption is projected to reach 1.221 billion kWh.
The power sector is mobilizing supply sources, including high-priced fuels, to ensure sufficient capacity for the system and conserve water at hydropower reservoirs, especially in the central region, to prepare for the dry season.
From May 28th, the heatwave in Northern and Central Vietnam will gradually subside.
This afternoon, many areas in Northern and Central Vietnam are still experiencing exceptionally intense heat, with temperatures exceeding 39 degrees Celsius. Although 1 PM today wasn't the peak of the day, temperatures in numerous locations across Hanoi , Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh continued to surpass 39 degrees Celsius.
Forecasts indicate that the heatwave will gradually subside from May 28th, with temperatures in many northern provinces dropping to 35-37 degrees Celsius, and even exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some areas.
In the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, the highest temperatures are commonly 37-39 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius. The South Central coastal region maintains temperatures of 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius.
By Friday, the widespread heatwave will end in Northern and North Central Vietnam thanks to thunderstorms. By Saturday, the heatwave will completely end in Central Vietnam.
