Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that Thang Long - Hanoi is a land of "spiritual land and talented people", a place where "the soul of mountains and rivers for thousands of years has settled", a place connecting the historical sources and quintessence of the Vietnamese people, a place where patriotism, love of peace , solidarity and aspiration to rise up converge and shine, a place where the country's talented people are born and gathered.
Traditional cultural values in historical periods together with values in the Ho Chi Minh era have been, are and will be the foundation, the driving force and valuable resources in building and developing the Capital today and in the future.

Thoroughly and deeply understanding the position, role and importance of culture, Hanoi city always pays special attention to the work of building people, developing culture, considering culture and people as the driving force, an important resource, deciding the rapid and sustainable development of the capital. During the terms, the City Party Committee has issued many policies on cultural development, building elegant and civilized Hanoians to develop the capital's culture worthy of the thousand-year tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi.
“To promote the role of the press and media in building and developing culture, spreading the good cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi with a thousand years of civilization, from 2018 to present, the Hanoi Party Committee has organized the Press Award on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians. This is an event organized annually by Hanoi city, attracting the attention and response of many reporters and press agencies of the Central, local and Hanoi”, emphasized comrade Nguyen Van Phong.

2024 is a special year, the year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024); this is also the year with the largest number of press works and press units and agencies participating in the Award ever.
Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong commented that many press works were carefully prepared, closely following reality, accurately and promptly reflecting issues in cultural development, building elegant and civilized Hanoians, creating a positive ripple effect in society. That demonstrates the spirit of serious work, creativity, responsibility and above all, the love of journalists and press agencies for Hanoi.
At the Award Ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Phong officially launched the 8th Press Award on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians - 2025 and called on press agencies, reporters, editors, localities, agencies, units, cadres, party members and people to actively participate and respond to the award.

After 7 times of organization, the Press Award on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians with the mark of the Capital has increasingly attracted a large number of reporters and press agencies to participate, thereby promoting responsibility, intelligence and dedication to building a Cultural - Civilized - Modern Capital.
As a result, the Final Jury unanimously selected 34 best press works to award prizes (1 Special Prize, 3 A Prizes, 5 B Prizes, 10 C Prizes and 15 Encouragement Prizes).
The Organizing Committee also selected two typical press agencies with many quality works to participate in the award: Hanoi Radio and Television Station and Economic & Urban Newspaper.
The Special Prize of the 7th Press Award on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians - 2024 was awarded to the work "Imprints of the Capital's Cultural Industry" by the group of authors from the News Department - Vietnam Television.
3 A prizes were awarded to the works: "Creating identification codes for Hanoians" by the group of authors Tran Hong Van, Hoang Le Quyen, Doan Anh Tuan, Vu Ngoc Ha of Hanoi Moi Newspaper; the work "Reviving and building an advanced culture with strong national identity" by the group of authors of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper; the work "Hanoi strives to build a creative city" by the group of authors of Hanoi Radio and Television Station.
