(Fatherland) - Within the framework of the 11th ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture and Arts (AMCA) and related conferences from October 23-25, 2024 in Melacca, Malaysia, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and Ministers and Heads of the delegations of the Ministries of Culture of ASEAN countries and Timor Leste attended the closing session of the Forum "ASEAN Youth and Heritage: Honoring the Roots and Reimagining the Future".
Also attending the forum were Ms. Tran Hai Van, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism . The Vietnamese delegation attending the Forum included lecturers from the Faculty of Arts and Culture Management, Faculty of Tourism Management and International Languages, Hanoi University of Culture.

The forum “ASEAN Youth and Heritage: Honoring the Roots and Reimagining the Future” was organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysian Youth Council with the participation of youth and young officials from ASEAN countries and Timor Leste. This is an opportunity for the young generation of ASEAN countries to exchange, learn and become more aware of preserving national cultural heritage for the common development of the ASEAN community.
With 04 discussion sessions on the topics: ASEAN Youth and Heritage: Our Future; Youth Initiatives in Protecting and Preserving Heritage; ASEAN Faith - Maintaining Religious Harmony and Reimagining ASEAN to 2045.
Delegates of Vietnam Delegation present papers at the Forum
At the Forum, delegates discussed and shared their countries' policies in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values and proposed a number of solutions to further promote cultural heritage values in the current and future context of ASEAN.
Presenting at the Forum, the Vietnamese delegation shared about the issue of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values associated with developing community tourism in ethnic minority areas, proposing a number of solutions on the principles of exploiting cultural values to develop community tourism in a sustainable manner. The contents of the speeches and initiatives of the Vietnamese delegation received the response and recognition of the delegates at the Forum.

Recognizing ASEAN youth as a key force in efforts to preserve and promote the region's cultural heritage, contributing to a prosperous and sustainable future, ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn affirmed that with creativity and passion, the young generation of ASEAN needs to strive not only to preserve traditional values, but also actively renew and spread those values through modern forms, suitable for the times such as applying digital technology, developing creative economic sectors, etc.
The forum is an opportunity for the young generation of ASEAN countries to exchange, learn and become more aware of preserving national cultural heritage.
Appreciating Malaysia's initiative, the Ministers and Heads of ASEAN delegations said the Forum is of great significance in the context of ASEAN cultural leaders and managers making efforts to build and promote policies to link the roles and responsibilities of ASEAN youth with the promotion of cultural heritage values towards sustainable development of the ASEAN community in the future./.
