With the aim of encouraging creativity and celebrating the beauty and cultural values ​​of Hanoi through the creative lens of filmmakers, the festival attracted 32 entries.

These works include 20 documentaries, 10 animated films, and 2 short films, all of which have been licensed for distribution or broadcast by the relevant authorities.

The organizers particularly encourage works that are groundbreaking and creative in their presentation, exploring stories about Thang Long - Hanoi, in order to honor the beauty and cultural values ​​of this land with a thousand years of history.

According to screenwriter Banh Thi Mai Phuong, President of the Hanoi Film Association and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Hanoi Short Film Festival 2024, this is the first time the Hanoi Film Association has organized such a large-scale event. The event aims not only to honor outstanding works on the theme of Thang Long - Hanoi but also to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to test their skills and creativity.

The opening ceremony of the Film Festival will take place on the evening of August 26th, and the closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held on the evening of August 28th at Kim Dong Cinema, 19 Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Notably, on August 24th, the Organizing Committee will hold a free screening of the competing films starting at 9:00 AM at Kim Dong Cinema, open to the public and film enthusiasts in Hanoi to enjoy outstanding works.

Besides film screenings, the festival also includes other notable activities such as seminars on cinema, short film production, and screenings of short films made by Hanoi artists.

This will be an opportunity for filmmakers, audiences, and film enthusiasts to meet, exchange ideas, and learn from each other, contributing to the development of the capital's film industry.
