Honoring the beauty of the ancient capital Hoa Lu through the Ao Dai

Ao Dai collection with the theme of Hoa Lu Ancient Architecture

The program is organized with the desire to promote measures to preserve and promote the traditional values of Ninh Binh craft villages; promote to domestic and international tourists about Ao Dai products bearing the cultural and traditional imprints of the historic Hoa Lu ancient capital. This is the opening event for 5 official events of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024.

At the program, the Organizing Committee brought 10 Ao Dai collections inspired by Hoa Lu's heritage architectures such as Bo Bat pottery, sedge weaving, and Hoa Lau motifs, made by artisans from Ninh Binh's traditional embroidery village. In particular, the Ao Dai fashion show also featured a unique combination of music performed by singers: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Meritorious Artist of the Erhu Thuy Anh, singers Phuong Kat, Minh Duc, Khang Ngoc, and the participation of Miss Ngoc Han.

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province Nguyen Manh Cuong said that Ninh Binh is known as a land of outstanding people, beautiful mountains and rivers, with an important position, a transit point connecting 3 economic regions which are also 3 cultural regions of the country. More than 30 thousand years ago, Ninh Binh was chosen by prehistoric people as a place to gather and live. In the 10th century, Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh was chosen as the capital of Dai Co Viet State, the first centralized state in the history of the Vietnamese nation, creating the premise for the brilliant development of Vietnamese feudal state institutions in the following periods. Ninh Binh residents through many generations have created, passed down and spread many unique cultural values. The event "Ninh Binh - Ao Dai on the Heritage Road" was held at the National Monument of Thien Ton Pagoda and Cave, Hoa Lu District, which used to be the gateway to the ancient Hoa Lu citadel, to honor and pay tribute to the heroic generals, sages, and artisans who contributed to the rich cultural history of Ninh Binh.

The program introduces to visitors traditional crafts that have been created and passed down by Ninh Binh people for centuries, such as Bo Bat pottery; embroidery - lace; Kim Son sedge. These are three of dozens of traditional crafts that have been actively contributing to the economic and cultural development of Ninh Binh, and are the resources and driving force for the sustainable development of the province. With the determination to tirelessly strive and the efforts to preserve, conserve and promote traditional cultural values as a solid foundation, Ninh Binh province is ready to enter a breakthrough phase to become a centrally-governed city with the characteristics of a millennium heritage city and a creative city.
