On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the morning of August 31, General Secretary To Lam visited and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Relic House No. 48 Hang Ngang Street (Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi).

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the morning of August 31, General Secretary To Lam visited and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Relic House No. 48 Hang Ngang Street (Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi ).

Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Pham Gia Tuc, Party Central Committee member, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; leaders of the General Secretary's Office, representatives of a number of departments, branches, and Hanoi city.

With infinite love and gratitude, General Secretary To Lam and members of the delegation offered incense and respectfully remembered the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of our Party and people, the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, the national liberation hero, and an outstanding cultural figure. He devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of our Party and people.

After the incense offering ceremony, General Secretary To Lam and members of the delegation visited the House No. 48 Hang Ngang Relic Site, listened to an introduction to the relic site, the precious relics of President Ho Chi Minh still preserved here, and stories about the Declaration of Independence that gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Here, General Secretary To Lam wrote in the Guest Book: "I am very honored and moved to return to visit the historic house at 48 Hang Ngang, Hanoi, where beloved President Ho Chi Minh drafted the Declaration of Independence - giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

In this simple room, under a small lamp, Uncle Ho devoted his heart, intelligence and steadfast faith in the future of the nation to write great, shining words, affirming to the whole world the sacred right to independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people. Each word, each page of the manuscript became an exemplary political essay, an immortal Declaration of the value of National Independence, of Freedom and Happiness of the people.

I pray before his spirit and before the history of the nation: The entire Party, the entire People, and the entire Army will continue to preserve and promote the achievements of the Revolution, building Vietnam to be increasingly prosperous and powerful, standing shoulder to shoulder with friends around the world as Uncle Ho always wished.

House No. 48 Hang Ngang of Mr. and Mrs. Trinh Van Bo and Hoang Thi Minh Ho, the original owners of the house, is located in the middle of the Old Quarter, the bustling commercial center of old Hanoi, now in Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi. These are rectangular buildings with two open front and back sides, the main door is located at 48 Hang Ngang Street, the back door is located at 35 Hang Can Street.

Due to its favorable location and being a revolutionary base since the pre-uprising period, this house was chosen by the Party Central Committee as the place where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during his early days returning to Hanoi from the Viet Bac resistance base in August 1945. President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in this house from August 25 to early September 1945.

Here, President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party Standing Committee decided on many important policies on domestic and foreign affairs, on the institutions and composition of the Provisional Government, on the organization of Independence Day... Notably, in a small room on the second floor of this house, President Ho Chi Minh wrote the "Declaration of Independence" read at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi on September 2, 1945, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The relic of House No. 48 Hang Ngang, where President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, was ranked as a National Historical and Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Decision No. 54-VHTT/QD dated April 29, 1979.
