General Secretary To Lam warmly welcomed the historic visit of the Lithuanian President, affirming that this is an important milestone, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Lithuania bilateral relationship to develop more strongly, substantively, and effectively in the future.
Reviewing the positive developments in Vietnam-Lithuania relations in recent times, General Secretary To Lam thanked the Government and people of Lithuania for their valuable support and assistance to Vietnam during the difficult times in the past; affirming that Vietnam always values and wishes to develop relations with traditional friendly countries, including Lithuania, an important partner of Vietnam in the region.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated and congratulated Lithuania on its achievements in socio -economic development, especially its pioneering role in information technology, financial technology (Fintech), artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity – key areas in the current global digital transformation process, thereby further enhancing Lithuania's prestige and position in the region.
The Lithuanian President expressed his admiration and congratulated Vietnam on its tremendous and historically significant achievements after nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) policy. He emphasized that Vietnam has now become a dynamic economy, deeply integrated with the world, maintaining political and social stability, and continuously improving the lives of its people. He highly appreciated Vietnam's strategic vision and development orientation regarding the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; international integration in the new context; and the development of the private economy. The Lithuanian President affirmed his appreciation for Vietnam's role and position in the region and the world, and expressed his desire to further promote relations with Vietnam, both within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

Acknowledging the positive results of the talks between President Luong Cuong and the President of Lithuania, particularly the signing of several important cooperation documents, which open up prospects for practical cooperation in areas where Lithuania has strengths and Vietnam has needs, such as science and technology, energy, and high-tech agriculture, General Secretary To Lam and President Gitanas Nauseda exchanged views on several major directions and measures to promote the traditional friendship between the two countries through strengthening exchanges of delegations, high-level and other contacts, and boosting cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, defense and security, science and technology, innovation, energy, agriculture, and labor. The two leaders affirmed the importance of strengthening exchanges and cooperation in education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, thereby further consolidating friendship for the benefit of the people of both countries, enhancing the role and position of each country in the region and the world, and participating more deeply in international affairs. More broadly integrated into the supply chain, contributing to peace, cooperation, and development.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude and requested the Lithuanian government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work stably in Lithuania; to strengthen the training of Vietnamese students, especially in fields where Lithuania has strengths, to supplement human resources serving the development of Vietnam and Lithuania; to build a strong Vietnamese community in Lithuania in both quantity and quality, serving as a bridge to promote traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Sharing views on international and regional issues of common concern, both sides agreed to continue strengthening coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums such as the United Nations, ASEM, and within the framework of ASEAN-EU cooperation. Both sides affirmed their support for international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the South China Sea.
