Who is the new General Director of Petrolimex?

Vietnam National Petroleum Group - Petrolimex (stock code: PLX) has just announced the appointment of Mr. Luu Van Tuyen as General Director for a term of 5 years from July 18.

The decision comes more than two months after the Petrolimex Board of Directors dismissed Mr. Dao Nam Hai from his position as General Director and suspended his membership on the Board of Directors.

The new General Director of Petrolimex was born in 1969, from Hung Yen, and is introduced as having a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a master's degree in Economics . He started working at Petrolimex from 2002 to 2008 as a member of the Board of Supervisors.

Subsequently, Mr. Tuyen held several key positions within the corporation, including Head of the General Affairs Department under the Finance and Accounting Center (2008-2012), Chief Accountant (2012-2019), and Deputy General Director from 2019 to the present. Since June 2023, he has also been a Member of the Board of Directors of Petrolimex.

Currently, Mr. Tuyen is the representative of the State capital held by the Ministry of Finance at Petrolimex, with more than 93.5 million PLX shares, equivalent to 7.23% of the enterprise's capital.

Currently, in addition to General Director Luu Van Tuyen, Petrolimex's Executive Board also has 7 Deputy General Directors, including Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam, Nguyen Quang Dung, Nguyen Van Su, Nguyen Xuan Hung, Nguyen Sy Cuong, Nguyen Ngoc Tu, and Nguyen Dinh Duong.

At a recent press conference announcing the situation and results of the police work in the first 6 months of the year of the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03 - Ministry of Public Security), said that the investigation agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Dao Nam Hai to investigate the crime of Receiving Bribes.

Besides Mr. Dao Nam Hai, another former General Director of Petrolimex Insurance Joint Stock Company (PJICO), Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, has also been prosecuted for bribery.

For the same crime, the Department of Investigation Police on Economic Crimes, Corruption, and Smuggling also prosecuted and detained Mr. Tran Hoai Nam, Deputy General Director of PJICO; Dang Quang Dung, Deputy Director of PJICO in charge of the Motor Vehicle Compensation Appraisal Board; Dinh Quoc Thinh, Deputy Director of the Motor Vehicle Compensation Appraisal Board and 4 other appraisers of the Motor Vehicle Compensation Appraisal Board.
