The Vietnamese Consulate General in Sihanoukville opened a condolence book to pay tribute to formerPresident Tran Duc Luong on May 24. |
At the funeral, officials and staff of the Consulate General, authorities of some provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the consular area (Preah Sihanouk and Koh Kong), armed forces, Cambodian security (Ream Port, Provincial Military Command and Forward Command in Preah Sihanouk province...), representatives of Vietnamese enterprises and the community of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese citizens living and working in the consular area observed a minute of silence and burned incense to bid farewell to former President Tran Duc Luong.
On behalf of the Preah Sihanouk City Hall delegation and the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Provincial Executive Committee, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province Mang Sineth expressed his deepest condolences to the country, the Government , the people of Vietnam and the family of comrade Tran Duc Luong, who led Vietnam through many difficult periods and tirelessly contributed to the cause of construction and development so that the country could have the position and prestige it has today; with all the deepest regret and sorrow, the delegation respectfully paid tribute to the soul of the former President.
Sending deep condolences to the country, Government, people of Vietnam and the family of former President Tran Duc Luong, Member of the Government, Director of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Lou Kim Chhun wrote: “Mr. Tran Duc Luong will forever be remembered as a leader who devoted his whole life to the country, making significant contributions to the modernization and socio -economic development of Vietnam; a loyal and devoted friend of Cambodia, with an important role in contributing to building the traditional friendship and win-win relationship between the two countries and peoples”.
At the end of the funeral ceremony, in an emotional, solemn and respectful atmosphere, on behalf of the staff of the Consulate General, Consul General Lai Xuan Chien bid farewell to the spirit of former President Tran Duc Luong, vowing to always follow his shining example, strive to fulfill assigned tasks well; try his best to contribute to maintaining, consolidating and developing the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, contributing to the efforts of the country and people to rise up.
