The State visit of President Luong Cuong takes place in the context of positive development of Vietnam-Egypt relations; this is the first visit by a key Vietnamese leader to Egypt in 7 years.

The car carrying President Luong Cuong and his wife entered the Presidential Palace to the sound of welcoming music. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed the President and his wife at the parking lot.
Next, the Egyptian President respectfully invited the President to step up to the podium. The military band played the national anthems of Egypt and Vietnam.
At the end of the ceremony, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Luong Cuong exchanged warm greetings and introduced official members of the two countries present at the welcoming ceremony.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, President Luong Cuong and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had a small talk, then led high-ranking delegations from the two countries to hold official talks to discuss measures to contribute to deepening and making bilateral relations more effective.

Since the two countries established diplomatic relations, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Egypt has achieved remarkable achievements and expanded in many fields.
Egypt is one of Vietnam's important trade partners and potential markets in Africa.
Egypt is the first North African country to recognize Vietnam as a full market economy (November 2013). Bilateral trade turnover is expected to reach 541.36 million USD in 2024, the highest among Vietnam's markets in the North African region.
The two sides have much room for cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral levels as they have many complementary strengths for mutual development.
