Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Beijing, China

On the evening of September 19, in Beijing, the Vietnamese Embassy in China solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Attending the ceremony on the Chinese side were Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Qingwei; Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee Fu Ziying, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong, Deputy Head of the Central External Liaison Department Ma Hui, Deputy Director of the Military Procuratorate of the Chinese People's Liberation Army - Major General Hu Minghua, Vice Principal of the Central Party School Li Wentang, former Ambassadors and Consuls General of China in Vietnam, along with representatives of many ministries, branches, localities, friendly people, veterans who participated in helping Vietnam in the resistance war against the US, representatives of enterprises, universities, hospitals, reporters of Chinese news agencies and newspapers.

Many guests including Ambassadors, Charge d'Affaires of various countries, and representatives of diplomatic corps in Beijing attended.

On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh, along with all officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, representatives of agencies, organizations, businesses, overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in China.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh emphasized that the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 are historical milestones of great significance. Over the past 80 years of fighting for national independence and building and developing the country, Vietnam has consistently pursued a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace , friendship, cooperation, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations, proactively and actively integrating into the world, and being a friend and a responsible, trustworthy partner of the international community.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam today is steadily moving towards modernity, continuing to carry out comprehensive innovation and reform of the apparatus, determined to achieve breakthroughs in all fields, creating a positive momentum to enter a new era, an era of national growth, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equity, and civilization.

To do this, along with the unceasing efforts of many generations of Vietnamese people, is the valuable support of international friends, including China.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that over the past time, the Vietnam-China relationship has maintained a positive development momentum and has been comprehensively promoted in the direction of "6 more".

High-level exchanges and contacts take place closely and are a bright spot in bilateral relations, notably the mutual visits between General Secretary and President To Lam (August 2024) and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (April 2025).

For the first time in the history of relations, at almost the same time, there were three visits by key leaders of both sides, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National People's Congress Trieu Lac Te, to attend important commemorative events and important multilateral activities in each country in late August and early September, demonstrating the respect and mutual support between the two countries.

At the meeting before the ceremony, comrade Truong Khanh Vi, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, on behalf of the Party, State and People of China, congratulated the important holiday of the Party, State and People of Vietnam.

Expressing his joy at the remarkable development achievements Vietnam has made over the past 80 years, comrade Truong Khanh Vi said that 2025 has special significance in China-Vietnam relations, the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, implement the Year of Humanitarian Exchange and maintain regular, close exchanges at high and all levels. Senior leaders of the two countries show support and respect for each other through attending important activities of each country.

Comrade Truong Khanh Vi affirmed that over the past 75 years, under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the China-Vietnam relationship established by Chairman Mao Zedong and President Ho Chi Minh and nurtured by revolutionary predecessors of the two countries has entered a new era of building a Community of Shared Future of high strategic significance.

China is willing to work with Vietnam to effectively implement the common perception between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, well organize activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations, promote comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides in the direction of "6 more", contribute to the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future as well as the cause of socialist modernization of each country.
