The ASEAN-China Week 2025 showcases the remarkable achievements in the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership over the past years, creating a strategic foundation for policy dialogue, practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, while mobilizing wisdom and strength to build a more cohesive ASEAN-China community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, ACC Secretary General Shi Zhongjun affirmed that the complex changes in the external environment are not barriers to cooperation, but strategic opportunities for China and ASEAN to focus their efforts inward and improve their capacity. Unity is the key for the two sides to find common solutions in the face of a volatile world, creating a more open and prosperous future for the Asia- Pacific region as well as the whole world.
He said that China and ASEAN should take strategic alignment as the guiding principle, jointly draw up development plans; uphold the principles of openness and integration, pursue win-win cooperation; prioritize innovation-oriented development and share the benefits of science and technology; focus on policy adjustment and mutual learning in governance; and utilize people-to-people exchanges as a bridge to build a close relationship between the two peoples.
