People of Dinh Lap commune take care of fruit trees, develop the economy and become rich locally.
Dinh Lap commune was established on the basis of merging Dinh Lap town, Dinh Lap commune and a part of the natural area and population of Binh Xa commune, the old Dinh Lap district. After the arrangement, Dinh Lap commune has a natural area of 164.64 km 2 , with 26 villages and a population of 2,378 households with 9,916 people.
Mr. Nguyen Chien Hiep, Chairman of Dinh Lap Commune People's Committee, said: Identifying sustainable poverty reduction as a key task, in recent times, the Party Committee and the government of Dinh Lap Commune have always focused on effectively implementing programs and policies to support people in economic development and improving their lives. At the same time, they have strengthened propaganda and mobilization to raise people's awareness of poverty reduction policies, arousing the spirit of self-reliance, not relying on the support of the State. Accordingly, the commune has reviewed and classified poor and near-poor households, clearly identified the causes to have practical support solutions. Through the review, many households lacking capital to develop production have been guaranteed preferential loans from the Transaction Office of Dinh Lap Social Policy Bank by socio -political organizations...
Currently, in the commune, there are organizations and unions such as the Women's Union, Farmers' Association, Veterans' Association and Youth Union... managing savings and loan groups with a total outstanding loan balance of more than 108 billion VND, helping more than 1,200 members and union members borrow to develop the economy. Capital sources are strictly managed, lent to the right subjects, used for the right purposes, and no overdue debts arise. In particular, the Commune Farmers' Association has entrusted 245 households to borrow capital with an outstanding loan balance of nearly 25 billion VND.
Mr. Nong Van Thang, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Dinh Lap Commune, said: "We coordinate with the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Dinh Lap and village chiefs to propagate so that people understand and access the preferential loan policy of the State. From there, we review and select disadvantaged households with real needs, helping them develop their family economy effectively."
Thanks to the good mobilization of resources, people have had the conditions to develop production, gradually improving their lives. Since receiving support of capital, seeds and technical training, households have been aware of taking care of crops and livestock, thereby many families have had stable incomes, gradually escaping poverty.
Mr. Chu Van Toi's family in Binh Chuong 2 village is a typical example of the local efforts to escape poverty. For many years, Mr. Toi's family faced many economic difficulties. However, the family's life changed significantly in 2023. From the capital of Project 2: Diversifying livelihoods, developing sustainable poverty reduction models in the period 2021 - 2025, his family received timely support: 2 breeding cows.
Thanks to his active participation in training sessions and strict adherence to farming techniques, his family's cow herd has grown healthily. Recently, a cow gave birth to a calf, bringing great hope to the family. Currently, Mr. Toi's family is gradually expanding the scale of cattle farming to create a stable source of income.
Not only relying on the State's support, his family also proactively developed a comprehensive economy by raising chickens and pigs to increase income. Thanks to that, Mr. Toi's family escaped poverty by the end of 2024. Mr. Toi emotionally shared: I am currently focusing on taking care of the cows. I hope that my family's cows will grow healthily and increase in number so that the family can have a stable livelihood and escape poverty sustainably.
Along with direct support programs, Dinh Lap commune also integrates resources for socio-economic development through trade and service activities, cooperatives (HTX) and improving agricultural production capacity. Accordingly, there is currently 1 market and 520 individual business households in the area. Trade and service activities continue to be maintained stably; the market for goods is rich and diverse, prices of goods are stable, essential goods are fully and promptly supplied, especially goods serving agricultural production and people's lives.
At the same time, there are currently 22 enterprises and cooperatives operating in the commune, of which 2 cooperatives are operating regularly with revenue from 1 - 4 billion VND/year, the average interest rate of 1 cooperative is about 150 - 300 million VND/year, creating an average income of regular workers from 6 - 7 million VND/person/month...
Mr. Nguyen Chien Hiep, Chairman of Dinh Lap Commune People's Committee added: The lessons learned from poverty reduction work by the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dinh Lap Commune are to do a good job of propaganda, raising people's awareness; eliminating the mentality of waiting and relying; creating conditions and motivation for households to strive to escape poverty and become rich legitimately. Along with that, regularly direct and grasp the implementation situation in villages and households to remove difficulties and obstacles. According to the latest calculations from the People's Committee of Dinh Lap commune, by the end of 2024, the multidimensional poverty rate in Dinh Lap commune will be 6.18% (equivalent to 52 poor households and 95 near-poor households). In 2025, Dinh Lap commune will continue to implement projects to support production development for poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped poverty households with a total budget of about 824 million VND and strive to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate to 4.51%, equivalent to a decrease of about 1.67% compared to 2024.
To achieve and exceed the target and effectively implement projects, in the coming time, the People's Committee of Dinh Lap commune will continue to direct and promote propaganda work, regularly organize training for households on livestock techniques such as: selecting food sources; cleaning barns; preventing and controlling epidemics... At the same time, assign staff to regularly monitor the livestock farming of households, promptly support and help people when they encounter difficulties, to develop the economy and escape poverty.
