The Hanoi People's Committee has just approved the investment project to build technical infrastructure and a number of public service works in the Ha Dong Cultural - Recreational, Entertainment and Sports Park. This is an important step to turn the western part of the capital into a large-scale green space, meeting the living and relaxation needs of the people.

The project is implemented in Kien Hung ward, invested by the Hanoi City Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Agriculture .

In terms of scale, the project will be fully invested from site clearance to synchronous technical infrastructure, including leveling, digging a regulating lake, internal traffic system, parking lot, power supply, water supply and drainage, communication and fire protection system. The park will have many unique functional items and landscape architecture, promising to be a highlight of the area.

Notable items include welcome gates and large squares, entertainment facilities, landscape spaces, and miniatures. In particular, the park will have a series of notable items such as a water music square, a cultural and festival square, an event square, a skateboarding area, a lakeside viewing pavilion, a maze bridge, a children's wooden house, a pier, a Japanese garden, a traditional garden, and a bonsai display area.

According to VTC News Electronic Newspaper reporters, the land where the project is being implemented is still surrounded by corrugated iron on many sides.

Inside, weeds grew as high as a person, many dry tree stumps fell down. Some sections became dumping grounds for household waste and discarded materials.

In some places, old concrete blocks and gray brick floors left over from previous use lie scattered.

Outside the corrugated iron fence, some households take advantage of the space near the project gate to set up temporary cafes, sell goods on carts or store items.

“This area has been abandoned for many years, it’s a pity to look at it. Every afternoon I take my grandchild for a walk, but they just hang around on the sidewalk. If the park is built as planned, with a lake and trees, we, the people, would be very happy,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, on Ha Tri Street.

“We hope to have a place to exercise and walk, especially for the elderly and children. I heard that there will be a music fountain square and a playground, which would be great. I hope the project will be implemented soon to make the area less messy,” said a resident of Kien Hung ward.

Ha Dong Park was originally approved for planning by the People's Committee of the former Ha Tay province in 1998, with a total area of about 98 hectares. After Ha Tay merged into Hanoi , the city assigned the former Ha Dong district to develop three main parts: a sports complex of more than 25 hectares, a green park - culture area of nearly 53 hectares and an apartment complex and international commercial center Booyoung Kien Hung of more than 11 hectares.

The project's relaunch opens up the hope of turning the area into a modern public space, meeting the long-standing wishes of local people.
