Thomas Frank's final match as Tottenham manager was a 1-2 home defeat against Newcastle. Under the Danish strategist's leadership, Tottenham have performed poorly and are currently 16th in the Premier League. Thomas Frank faced chants from Tottenham fans such as "you'll be sacked tomorrow morning" after their 11th league defeat of the season.
Tottenham have won only two of their last 17 Premier League matches, earning just 11 points during that period. They have gone eight consecutive Premier League games without a win, their longest winless streak in the league since October 2008.
A club statement said: "The club has decided to change its head coach and Thomas Frank will be leaving today. Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we were determined to give him the time and support he needed to build the future together."
However, the results and performances led the management to conclude that a change at this point in the season was necessary. Throughout his time with the club, Thomas has always shown unwavering dedication and commitment to moving the club forward. We thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in the future."
Thomas Frank is the seventh manager to be sacked in the Premier League this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo (Nottingham Forest), Graham Potter (West Ham), Ange Postecoglou (Nottingham Forest), Vitor Pereira (Wolves), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea) and Ruben Amorim (Man Utd).
After 38 matches under Thomas Frank's leadership, Tottenham averaged only 1.29 points per game. This figure is lower than that of his predecessor Ange Postecoglou (1.52 points/game), and is also the worst performance by a permanent manager at Spurs in over 20 years. Previously, Juande Ramos held the record for the lowest average with 1.35 points/game during the 2007-2008 season.
