A rare incident occurred in Missouri (USA) when a Toyota Corolla was suddenly thrown off the road due to the asphalt being deformed by the extreme heat. The entire situation was recorded by a dash cam, attracting millions of views on social networks.
The Corolla, traveling at normal speed, jumped onto the deformed road and... flew into the air like in an action movie, before landing hard and sliding.

According to local media, the incident occurred in the city of Cape Girardeau during a record heat wave in mid-June. The heat caused the concrete pavement to expand, creating an unusual "bump" like a large slope in the middle of the road.
Fortunately, the driver only suffered minor injuries, but the front of the car was severely damaged. Notably, a nearby traffic cone was also thrown into the air, nearly hitting the car behind, showing the severity of weather-related road deformation.

Road surface explosions are not uncommon during extreme hot weather, especially in the southern and midwestern states of the United States. Infrastructure experts say road surface temperatures can exceed 60°C, causing asphalt and concrete materials to expand, crack, and form unexpectedly high bumps, posing a danger to road users.
Missouri authorities have barricaded and repaired the roadway, and are advising drivers to drive cautiously during hot weather, avoid speeding, and always pay attention to the road ahead.
