On that flight, a donated heart from Gia Dinh People's Hospital was transported, bringing hope for a patient awaiting a transplant at Hue Central Hospital.
Immediately upon landing at Phu Bai Airport at 7:15 AM, a team of four doctors from Hue Central Hospital quickly transported the organs to the hospital for the transplant surgery, giving new life thanks to the noble act of the organ donor.
Earlier, upon receiving information from the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, Vietnam Airlines assisted in arranging travel for the medical team to urgently travel to Ho Chi Minh City on the night of June 28th to retrieve organs, ready for transportation to Hue early the next morning.
Because heart tissue requires strict preservation conditions over a long period, Vietnam Airlines prioritizes every step of the preparation process, from check-in and security screening to seating arrangements and departure from the tarmac, to ensure the critical window for survival.
As the national airline, Vietnam Airlines is deeply aware of its responsibility to the community. For many years, the airline has not only been involved in the transportation of organs, but has also actively supported the transport of patients and specialized medical equipment to hospitals nationwide.
Since 2018, Vietnam Airlines has officially collaborated with the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center in the transportation of organs and tissues. This joint effort has helped to give hope to hundreds of patients, providing precious opportunities for recovery across the country.
