Solemn farewell ceremony for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation attending the 33rd SEA Games
TPO - On the morning of December 7, at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), the farewell ceremony for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, conveying the trust and expectations of fans nationwide before the biggest sports festival in Southeast Asia.

From early morning, Noi Bai International Airport was brightly decorated with the red flag with yellow star. Athletes and coaches wearing the uniform of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, ready for the journey to compete at the 33rd SEA Games. The ceremony was attended by Director of the Vietnam Sports Department Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, leaders of the Sports Department and representatives of Vietnam Airlines , creating a motivating start for the athletes' journey. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of Vietnam Branch - Vietnam Airlines Le Chi Quan shared his pride that over the years, the national airline has always accompanied Vietnamese sports on the journey to conquer the peak. He emphasized that the trust of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Sports Department is a great source of encouragement for Vietnam Airlines to continue contributing to the development of the country's sports, contributing to "giving wings to dreams, raising the level of Vietnamese talents to reach the world ". The airline representative also affirmed that it will ensure safe, comfortable flights and quality service throughout the journey to bring and receive the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to Thailand. In his wishes to the coaches, athletes and all members of the delegation, the representative of Vietnam Airlines expressed his hope that the players will compete with courage, confidence and make the highest effort to bring glory to the Fatherland, the people and the fans.
From Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, a total of 113 members departed on December 7, bringing the total number of teams that have gone to Thailand to 16.
Under the leadership of Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh, 81 members set off on the morning of December 7, including Union officials, coaches and athletes from the Cycling, Canoeing, Swimming, Jet Ski, Sepak Takraw, Gymnastics teams... carrying great determination and expectations when entering the regional arena.
Expressing his gratitude for the thoughtful coordination and the emotional farewell ceremony organized by Vietnam Airlines, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department - Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games with 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches, 19 experts, will compete in 47/66 sports, with a total of 443/573 events. He emphasized that the whole delegation set off with the highest determination, carrying within them the will, enthusiasm and Vietnamese spirit to overcome their own limits, aiming for the highest achievements. “The delegation will bring the will in their heads, the fire in their hearts, the strength from within, overcome their own limits, demonstrate the Vietnamese spirit when competing, as instructed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Departure Ceremony, to compete to achieve the highest results, bringing glory to the Fatherland”, Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized.
The leaders presented fresh bouquets of flowers, congratulated and encouraged the athletes before leaving for the competition. Radiant in the red uniform of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, rower Nguyen Thi Huong shared that at the previous SEA Games, Canoeing was not included in the competition program, so at this SEA Games, she and her teammates are more determined to strive for the highest results, bringing glory to the Fatherland. In the belief and expectation of fans, it is hoped that with the attention of the Party and State leaders and the careful preparation of the teams, Vietnamese Sports will overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the tasks at the upcoming challenging SEA Games.
