To deploy and complete the project of upgrading and expanding National Highway 91 on schedule, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee directed relevant units to urgently carry out tasks according to the functions and tasks of each unit, focusing on prioritizing the implementation of compensation, support and resettlement of the project before December 31, 2025.
In addition, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City requested organizations, households and individuals affected by the project to agree with the land acquisition policy; coordinate well and promptly with the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council in measuring, counting, and giving opinions on the compensation, support and resettlement plan so that the project implementation can keep up with the prescribed schedule.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen emphasized: During the process of implementing compensation, support and resettlement of the project, the City Party Committee and Can Tho City People's Committee have paid attention to and agreed to implement support policies to ensure the rights and stabilize the lives and production of people whose land has been recovered; ensuring fairness, publicity and transparency in the process of organizing the implementation of land recovery, compensation, support and resettlement.
The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 91 (section Km0-Km7) was approved by the People's Council of Can Tho City in Resolution No. 47/NQ-HDND (dated December 8, 2023). The project has an investment scale of about 7.04km, with a total investment of more than VND 7,240 billion. It is expected that the project will be completed and put into use by 2027.
The entire 7km project passes through the wards of Cai Khe, Binh Thuy and Thoi An Dong, with a total of 1,083 organizations, households and individuals affected by the project. Of these, 109 cases have received compensation and support from the project (Ben Xe - Tra Noc intersection section) before.
Upon completion, the project will ensure safe and convenient traffic connections along the entire National Highway 91, promote socio -economic development of the city and surrounding areas; contribute to urban beautification of the central area of Can Tho City, prevent flooding due to high tides and heavy rains; and improve the lives of local residents.
