Can Tho City prepares to review the implementation of Resolution 57.

(CTO) - On the morning of June 3rd, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, held a working session with the Working Group of the City Steering Committee on the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Can Tho City is preparing to hold a conference to review the first six months of 2026 regarding the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation (Resolution 57). The City Party Committee Office, in coordination with the City Department of Science and Technology, is developing the organizational outline for the review conference; drafting a report on the situation and results of implementing Resolution 57 in the first six months and the direction and tasks for the last six months of 2026; preparing presentations from city departments, agencies, and units at the conference; and drafting a document to be sent to the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee reporting on the conference program and the list of tasks to be prepared for the review conference…

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City's Steering Committee on Science , Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, requested the members of the working group to prepare well for the preliminary review conference. He also gave opinions on the preparation work, the conference program, the content of the presentations; and the projects and proposals on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation for the city.

Over the past period, Can Tho City has actively implemented Resolution 57, issuing numerous resolutions and decisions to support management, programs, and plans aimed at strongly promoting research, application of science, and technological innovation in the area. This includes establishing a Science and Technology Development and Innovation Fund; issuing a Smart City Development Project and establishing the Can Tho City Smart City Development Coordination Council; establishing the Council's operational regulations; and issuing the 2026 work program of the City Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation.

The city has issued 12 major projects on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Can Tho City for the period 2026-2030; the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation has proposed selecting 3-5 major projects from these 12 to recommend implementation starting from the second quarter of 2026.
