According to the latest announcement of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, from June 18 to April 13, 2024, semi-trailers are prohibited from traveling on 8 routes:
1. For Bach Dang - Phan Dang Luu - Hoang Van Thu - Phan Thuc Duyen axis
- Prohibit vehicles from traveling in both directions on Bach Dang Street (from Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street to Le Quang Dinh Street, Binh Thanh District); Phan Dang Luu Street (from Le Quang Dinh Street, Binh Thanh District to Nguyen Kiem Street, Phu Nhuan District); Hoang Van Thu Street (from Bay Hien intersection, Tan Binh District to Phu Nhuan intersection, Phu Nhuan District).
- Phan Thuc Duyen Street (section from Phan Dinh Giot Street to Tran Quoc Hoan Street), Tan Binh District: prohibits traffic in the direction from Phan Dinh Giot Street to Tran Quoc Hoan Street.
2. Dien Bien Phu - Vo Thi Sau axis
- Dien Bien Phu Street (section from Hang Xanh intersection, Binh Thanh district to Dinh Tien Hoang street, district 1): prohibit traffic in the direction from Hang Xanh intersection to Dinh Tien Hoang street.
- Vo Thi Sau Street (section from Dinh Tien Hoang Street, District 1 to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 3): prohibits traffic in the direction from Dinh Tien Hoang Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street.
3. For Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Nguyen Van Troi road axis
- Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (from Vo Thi Sau Street to Cong Ly Bridge, District 3): traffic is prohibited in both directions.
- Nguyen Van Troi Street (from Cong Ly Bridge to Hoang Van Thu Street, Phu Nhuan District): traffic is prohibited in both directions.
Alternative route:
- Route 1 (from the east to the west of the city and vice versa): Hanoi Highway → Mai Chi Tho Street → Dong Van Cong Street → Vo Chi Cong Street → Phu My Bridge → Zone A Intersection → Nguyen Van Linh Street → National Highway 1 and vice versa.
- Route 2 (from north to south of the city): National Highway 22 → National Highway 1 → Hanoi Highway → Mai Chi Tho Street → Dong Van Cong Street → Vo Chi Cong Street → Phu My Bridge → Zone A Intersection → Nguyen Van Linh Street → Nguyen Huu Tho Street and vice versa.
In addition, from June 18 to May 31, 2024, the Department of Transport will adjust traffic organization on Phan Thuc Duyen Street (from Tran Quoc Hoan Street to alley 4 Phan Thuc Duyen), Tan Binh District as follows:
- Organize one-way traffic for all vehicles from Tran Quoc Hoan Street to alley 4 Phan Thuc Duyen; at the same time, prohibit passenger cars and trucks from circulating.
Alternative route : Phan Thuc Duyen street → Thang Long street → Hau Giang street → Truong Son street → Tran Quoc Hoan street.
The project to build the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road in Tan Binh district officially started on December 24, 2022. This is a key traffic project that, in addition to the goal of directly connecting to Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport, also creates a new parallel route and reduces the load on the existing Cong Hoa and Truong Chinh routes. The project has a total investment of VND 4,848 billion and is expected to be completed in September 2024, synchronized with Terminal T3.
