Ho Chi Minh City establishes Social Security Fund.

On November 18th, the 2023 National Unity Day of Ho Chi Minh City, jointly organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and various political and social organizations and departments in Ho Chi Minh City, took place at the Youth Cultural Center (4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) with the participation of over 5,000 people.

This is also the first year that Ho Chi Minh City has organized the National Unity Day on a city-wide scale with many activities taking place throughout the day from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM on November 18th. The Ho Chi Minh City National Unity Day also aims to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023).

Within the framework of the festival, Ho Chi Minh City launched the Social Security Fund, established by a decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Deputy Founder of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund, said that in the past, the unit has coordinated with many relevant parties to develop a project to establish a social security fund to continue building on the achievements of the humanitarian activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Center during the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.

The Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund is managed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and is subject to state management by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City and other relevant departments and agencies regarding the fund's operations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund will be "upgraded" in the near future by enhancing its information technology applications, establishing its own website and social media channels to disseminate information about social security programs and solicit contributions and support from individuals and organizations both domestically and internationally. All information from the fund will be publicly disclosed, transparent, and specific.

Providing welfare packages to people in need during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.

Accordingly, in late 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, with the coordination of socio-political organizations (such as the Labor Union, the City Youth Union, and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union), the Ho Chi Minh City Social Security Fund will implement programs such as "Workers' Families Celebrate Tet with the City", "Springtime Journey", "Healthcare for the Vulnerable", "Giving Livelihoods - Giving Love", "Accompanying Female Workers During Childbirth", "Spring of Love: Caring for Disadvantaged Children"...

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City announced that the total estimated funding for these programs is over 3.8 billion VND. Through this, the committee calls for the participation of philanthropists to support these social welfare programs and help those in difficult circumstances in the area.
