2025 is the year of the first batch of students completing grade 12 under the new GeneralEducation Program. With many changes in the new program, some universities plan to no longer consider admission based on academic records or reduce the percentage of admission quotas based on academic records.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that in previous years, the school used academic transcript scores for admission as an independent method (10% of the target) or in combination with specialized competency assessment test scores (30-40% of the target).

However, from 2025, the school plans to no longer use the transcript results in both of these methods. Because next year's candidates will study under the new program, each student will choose and have transcript scores in different combinations.

The school expects that considering the results of the specialized competency assessment exam will become an independent admission method and one of the main admission methods of the unit in 2025.

Accordingly, candidates need to take at least two subjects according to the combination prescribed by the school in each major, including one main subject. The admission score is the total score of the main subject multiplied by a coefficient of two plus the score of the remaining subject.

The published sample exam questions show that the content of the subjects closely follows the 2018 General Education Program; in which 12th grade knowledge accounts for about 70 - 80%, the rest is from the 10th and 11th grade programs.

This method is expected to be applied to enroll students in 30 training majors with about 40 - 50% of the target, depending on the major. Along with that, the school uses methods of considering high school graduation exam scores in 2025; giving priority to recruiting specialized students and direct recruitment.

Previously, from 2022, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education began organizing specialized competency assessment exams and used the results of this exam combined with high school study results to recruit part of the admission quota.

To be admitted by this method, candidates choose to take at least one subject from the subjects organized by the school.

The admission score is the total score of the specialized competency assessment test multiplied by a coefficient of two, plus the scores of the two remaining subjects in the combination (the average score of the subject in 6 semesters in high school).

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade also plans to reduce the quota for the high school transcript review method from 30% to 15-20% of the total quota in 2025.

In addition to traditional methods, the school will have an additional method of considering specialized competency assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education./.

One point of admission by considering high school transcripts.

The admission scores based on transcripts of most universities in Ho Chi Minh City have increased quite a bit compared to last year, from 1-4 points depending on the major.
