According to the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, congratulated China on the significant achievements it has made over the past 76 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. He stated that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong and successive generations of leaders of both countries, has become increasingly strong and a precious asset for the people of both nations.

According to Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Ho Chi Minh City has established friendly and cooperative relations with eight Chinese localities. China is the 16th largest investor in the city, with bilateral trade reaching US$24.4 billion in 2024 and US$11.78 billion in the first six months of 2025. The city currently has 71 representative offices of Chinese businesses operating. He expressed confidence that Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be an attractive destination for Chinese investors, especially in strategic areas such as infrastructure, smart cities, innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation.
According to Tang Li, the Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China relations and is the Year of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange. He stated that frequent high-level contacts between the two Parties and countries reflect the strategic nature and importance of bilateral relations.
China continues to be Vietnam's largest trading partner, and investment in Vietnam is constantly setting new records. Infrastructure projects such as railways, highways, and border crossings are showing positive progress, with an increasing rate of high-tech and environmentally friendly applications.
Referring to administrative reforms and the merger of provinces and cities in Vietnam, Mr. Duong Lap stated that this is not only a change in geographical boundaries, but also represents a new management mindset and development model, creating a foundation for the advancement of the Vietnamese nation. He assessed that Ho Chi Minh City after the merger will have all the conditions to become a megacity with regional and international influence.
The Chinese Consul General expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation with southern provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, in order to contribute to the prosperous development of these localities. He stated that he would strive to fulfill his mission, promote friendly exchanges and substantive cooperation between China and Vietnamese localities, and jointly cultivate an increasingly strong Sino-Vietnamese friendship for the benefit of the people of both countries, as well as for peace and prosperity in the region and the world .
