Ho Chi Minh City and AMD Corporation signed a cooperation agreement to develop high technology and AI.

(NLDO)- After the signing ceremony between Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and AMD Group, the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC) converted to international standards (ESC International).

On June 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) - one of the world's leading semiconductor technology corporations.

This event is promoted by SunEdu InternationalEducation Joint Stock Company (SunEdu), AMD's strategic partner in Vietnam, promising to open a new era of investment, talent development and technology application in Ho Chi Minh City.

This Memorandum of Understanding establishes a comprehensive cooperation framework, focusing on promoting research and development (R&D), training high-quality human resources in the technology field, and implementing digital transformation initiatives to build a smart and modern Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an important part of the city government's commitment to position Ho Chi Minh City as a leading technology hub in the region, especially in the fields of electronics, semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc attended the MOU signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, AMD will actively participate in city government-led technology initiatives, including contributing to policy pilot programs and co-hosting innovation-promoting events.

In particular, AMD will work closely with local educational institutions to enhance the capacity of lecturers, students and officials of departments and agencies in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, the agreement also includes commitments on the investment environment at Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), a key area expected to attract many large technology projects in the future.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan affirmed: "This cooperation marks a significant milestone in the journey of developing high-tech infrastructure and human resources of the city. This is a golden opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to attract investment, develop talent and promote technological progress, thereby building a strong technology ecosystem, turning the city into an attractive destination for global technology corporations".

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City, as the largest economic and innovation center in Vietnam, is committed to building a dynamic business environment, attracting investment in digital infrastructure and developing future-ready human resources.

Through strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, the city is gradually asserting its position as a leading regional hub for technology, education and investment.

Within the framework of the signing ceremony, the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC) at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), jointly established by SUN Edu International Education Joint Stock Company and SHTP Training Center, has now officially transformed into ESC International.
