Accordingly, the highest admission score for 10th grade specialized high schools this year is 10 specialized English according to project 5695 at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted with 37.5 points (1st choice), 37.75 (2nd choice) and 38 (3rd choice).
The Department of Education and Training noted that after knowing the admission scores, from June 25 to 4:00 p.m. on June 29 at the latest, candidates admitted to specialized high schools, integrated high schools, and direct admission schools will submit their admission applications to the schools they were admitted to. Candidates who do not submit their admission applications will have their names removed from the admission list.
This year, the city will enroll 1,995 specialized students in 6 schools, including specialized high schools and general high schools. This is also the last year that Ho Chi Minh City will enroll students in specialized 10th grade at 4 general high schools.
To be admitted to a specialized grade 10, candidates must take three exams: Literature, Math, and Foreign Language, along with the specialized subject. The admission score will be the total score of the three exams: Literature, Math, and Foreign Language, along with the specialized subject score (multiplied by a factor of 2). The maximum total score is 50 points.
Candidates register for the 10th grade English exam in 2 ways: One is to register for the English exam similar to previous years, the other is to take the English exam according to Project 5695 including English, Math and Natural Sciences in English (only implemented at 2 specialized schools: Le Hong Phong High School and Tran Dai Nghia High School).
Meanwhile, in the next school year, the city will stop enrolling in integrated 10th grade at two specialized high schools, Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia.
Thus, in the upcoming school year, the whole city will have only 10 high schools enrolling integrated 10th graders with 735 targets.
Admission to integrated grade 10 will be divided into 2 groups, including:
Group 1: Students participating in the integrated English program (according to project 5695) at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City.
Admission score = Literature score + Foreign language score + Math score + average score of integrated English program (according to project 5695) grade 9 junior high school (on a 10-point scale).
Group 2: Students who do not attend the integrated English program at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City.
Admission score = Literature score + Foreign language score + Math score + English specialized exam score (according to project 5695).
