According to a report on revenue from the natural resources and environment sector, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment stated that in the first 10 months of the year, the Department received, appraised, and submitted 65 project dossiers to the City Land Valuation Council.
By the end of October, the total value of approved projects had exceeded the annual plan and made a significant contribution to local budget revenue. In addition, revenue from land and water surface leases also increased sharply by approximately 241%.
Ho Chi Minh City is also striving to resolve 84 outstanding land allocation and land use conversion applications from the period 2003-2013. Resolving these issues will not only generate additional revenue for the budget but also pave the way for the development of approximately 84,000 new apartments, providing housing for over 300,000 people.
In total, over the past 10 months, revenue from the natural resources and environment sector in Ho Chi Minh City reached nearly 75,200 billion VND, an increase of 353% compared to the same period in 2024 (only 21,292 billion VND). This amount alone significantly contributed to the city's total budget revenue reaching 652,509 billion VND, equivalent to 97% of the central government's allocated target and 115% compared to the same period last year.
Following its administrative boundary expansion, Ho Chi Minh City aims to collect approximately 700,000 billion VND in revenue this year. Of this, revenue from land is expected to continue playing a central role, with a plan to collect over 86,000 billion VND through the determination of specific land prices for 153 projects and works across the city.
