On August 23, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to summarize the 2022-2023 school year and deploy key tasks for the 2023-2024 school year.

In the new school year 2023-2024, the Ho Chi Minh City education and training sector has identified 14 key tasks. In particular, the city will strengthen decentralization and delegation of authority in management, promote autonomy for public educational institutions, effectively implement preschool education, general education and continuing education programs, improve quality, standardize the team of teachers and education managers at all levels, improve the quality of human resource training...

Along with that, Ho Chi Minh City will focus on building a happy school model, promoting digital transformation, administrative reform, international integration in education, and strengthening educational communication. In addition, the whole industry will strengthen political work, national defense and security education for teachers and students, promote physical education, sports activities, school health, and ensure school safety.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, requested the Ho Chi Minh City education and training sector to focus on promoting school management in the direction of streamlining, modernizing, and transparency, strengthening grassroots democracy, implementing flexibly, arranging and assigning teachers to ensure sufficient quantity and synchronous structure. The city needs to strengthen conditions to ensure technical infrastructure and skills in applying information technology in teaching and learning and testing and evaluating the quality of education. The city needs to take the lead in effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program, reviewing the planning of the school network, paying attention to innovating methods, and strengthening the inspection and assessment of education quality.
On this occasion, 135 collectives that excellently completed their tasks for the school year (2022-2023) received awards from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
