Ho Chi Minh City thoroughly overcomes the problem of pushing and delaying work.

(Dan Tri) - The Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized the need to thoroughly overcome the mindset of waiting, relying, pushing, delaying work, and avoiding performing public duties.

On September 23, the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity of Ho Chi Minh City informed the press about the contents of the 11th meeting. The meeting was chaired by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, aiming to assess the situation and results of the work of anti-corruption, wastefulness, and negativity and the results of the steering committee's activities since the beginning of the year, and discuss a number of key tasks to be implemented in the coming time.

In recent times, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity has continued to be vigorously promoted, making an important contribution to Party building and rectification, maintaining political stability, promoting socio-economic development, and strengthening and consolidating people's trust.

The work of preventing and combating waste has been strengthened by leadership and direction at all levels and sectors, focusing on reviewing and handling constructions and real estate that are public assets when arranging and streamlining the apparatus and administrative units; ensuring full and accurate statistics of the current situation; organizing the handover, reception, and exploitation of assets in accordance with regulations and effectively, avoiding omissions, causing loss and waste of assets. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City has removed 266/838 constructions, projects, and land plots that are backlogged and stuck.

The work of inspection, examination, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments has been closely and synchronously coordinated by the competent authorities, and violations, corruption and negativity have been strictly and promptly handled; the city's prosecution agencies have proactively identified, detected, prosecuted, investigated and handled many corruption cases, including cases and incidents under the monitoring of the steering committee.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Inspection Committees at all levels have focused on inspecting and strictly handling many officials and Party members who have committed violations, including leaders; the enforcement of civil judgments has made important progress, with the value of completed judgments increasing sharply compared to the same period.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee for the prevention and control of corruption, waste and negativity of Ho Chi Minh City requires agencies and units to focus on promoting the fight against corruption, waste and negativity, in conjunction with personnel work, reorganizing the apparatus of the political system, administrative reform, digital transformation, and operating two-level local governments. All work under the authority of the two levels of local government must be smooth, without delay or omission.

The Steering Committee also emphasized the need to thoroughly overcome the mindset of waiting, relying, pushing, and delaying work; not using the excuse of new, unclear tasks or waiting for instructions to push, avoid in performing public duties; not causing congestion, wasting time, effort, and money of the State, people, and businesses.
