According to Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, from the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will deploy digital and digitally signed grade books on the website https://sodaubai.hcm.edu.vn and on the HCM Grade Book App at 100% of educational institutions in the city.
According to regulations, the timetable on the digital lesson book will be updated every Monday; teachers can only adjust it on weekends. Teachers must sign during the class time specified by the school and no later than 5 minutes after the end of the class. If the class is not signed, it will not be counted as teaching time. The homeroom teacher and the principal will sign and close the book at the end of each week.
Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc emphasized that the implementation of digital lesson books is an important step in digital transformation of education according to Resolution 57 of the Ho Chi Minh City education sector, aiming to synchronize teaching and school management activities in the digital environment.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City education sector has digitized many areas such as electronic transcripts, financial management, facilities, teaching equipment, staff and student management. In the coming time, the city will continue to implement the recognition of electronic diplomas, certificates and other contents to complete the digital education ecosystem.
The application of digital lesson books is expected to help synchronize educational data, innovate administration, improve classroom management efficiency, and reduce the pressure of records and books for teachers, contributing to building a modern, transparent and convenient learning environment.
“In the initial stages of implementation, some teachers may not be familiar with using digital signatures. However, this will be a tool used regularly in teaching and school management. Therefore, units need to organize serious training and widely disseminate to staff, teachers, employees and parents to achieve high consensus. Each school should assign an officer in charge of supervising the use of digital lesson books,” Mr. Quoc suggested.
According to Mr. Quoc, the process of operating the digital exam book of Ho Chi Minh City is built based on the database of the city's education sector, including lists of subjects, classes, students, staff, digital signatures, and is directly connected to the school management software of each educational institution (timetable, teaching plan, functional rooms, equipment list...).
The digital grade book is not only linked to the timetable to help teachers reduce operations and save time, but also directly connected to the digital grade book. The comments and assessments of teachers in the digital grade book will be automatically linked to the electronic grade book, serving as the basis for comments and assessments of students at the end of the semester and the end of the school year.
