(PLVN) - With the aim of bringing diners a unique culinary experience, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with the InterContinental Hotel and the ASEAN Regional Office of aT organized the Korean Gastronomy Week 2024 (from September 27, 2024 to October 5, 2024).
The event was attended by Mr. Cho Seung Hwan, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries; Mr. Song Mi Ryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food; Choi Young Sam, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, and the Korea Agricultural and Food Products Distribution Corporation – aT, Chairman Hong Moon Pyo, co-organized the event.

Regarding the Korean Food Week in Vietnam, Mr. Choi Young Sam, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, said that the event aims to promote Korea's rich agricultural and aquatic products to Vietnamese consumers, while further strengthening the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Korea.

Throughout the event, at the restaurant of the InterContinental hotel, the famous 2-star Michelin chef "Restaurant Allen" - Hyunmin Suh in Seoul, Korea prepared unique dishes made from Korean seafood, with the typical flavors of the Korean sea such as Wando Oysters Stewed with Barley Risotto, Jeju Flounder with Beans, Cold Buckwheat Noodles and Kabocha Pumpkin Cake.
Diners experienced an enchanting journey that celebrated the traditional flavors of Korean cuisine combined with the influence of contemporary cooking techniques. In particular, products such as fresh fruits, ginseng, traditional Korean wine, processed foods from rice, abalone, oysters... always received a lot of attention.

Tea master Kim Jin Pyeong brought the Korean tea culture experience to the Korean Food Week. The distinguished guests were able to admire the traditional Korean tea ceremony art and discover the profound stories and philosophies hidden in each cup of tea and enjoy the unique flavors of the teas.

Discussing further about this event, Mr. Kim Kyoung Cheol, Director of aT ASEAN region, affirmed that Vietnam is a country with great potential due to the increasing demand for high-quality agricultural and aquatic products.
"We hope this event will be a good opportunity to widely promote fresh Korean seafood and provide multi-faceted support so that high-quality Korean ingredients can penetrate deeply into the Vietnamese food market," Mr. Kim added.
Korean Gastronomy Week 2024 officially returns with the theme of the taste of the sea at InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72. Korean Gastronomy Week in Vietnam targets the dining market with K-food cuisine, launching a new menu with Korean seafood and cooking demonstrations by famous chefs.
The event will continue until October 5, with the participation of famous Korean chefs and wine experts. They will make Korean menus using K-FISH seafood such as oysters, abalone, seaweed, sea urchin, and fried seaweed snacks.
