Dang Anh Tu faced great challenges from a very young age. At the age of 8, Tu suffered a brain hemorrhage. A year later, he continued to have a high fever and was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. From that incident, the young man's vision and agility in his legs were severely affected.
There were moments when all hope seemed lost, beyond saving, when Tu had to undergo a 24-hour surgery to fight for his life. To take care of Tu’s recovery, his mother had to stop working at the market in the morning, while his father took care of him in the afternoon – a difficult journey for the whole family.
However, it was those harsh challenges that forged a resilient Dang Anh Tu. “Legs may be tired, but the head must not be tired” – that is also his philosophy of life, the guiding principle that helps him overcome all his own limits.
No one could have guessed that Dang Anh Tu would shine the brightest when he got involved in athletics. Despite his weak body and the pain in his spine that made it impossible to lie on his side or back, Tu never stopped trying.
With an iron will, in his first time participating in the competition, he excellently won the prestigious Gold Medal. This achievement not only opened up greater opportunities, but also was a living proof of his steely spirit.
Not only successful in sports, Dang Anh Tu also has a kind heart, always looking towards the community. He opened Tam Duc massage and acupressure facility with the desire to help people in the same situation, creating jobs so that they can be independent in their lives and support their families.
Currently, Tu is also an active member of Step Club, an action club for the visually impaired, continuing to spread positive energy and support people in similar situations. With his determination and willpower, Tu is pursuing his dream of studying medicine and cherishing the plan of opening his own healthcare center, where he can contribute more to the community.
In particular, it was through the community and social activities that Tu participated in that he found a friend who understood and shared his feelings in life. That was Nghiem Thu Loan, the founder of Step Club and also a character who appeared in episode 36 of Love Station, broadcast in 2022.
The fateful meeting of these two characters promises to open up interesting journeys and sincere sharing about love and empathy in life.
Dang Anh Tu’s story is not only a journey to overcome fate but also a strong message about will, perseverance, compassion and the desire to contribute. Through this story, “Love Station” hopes to inspire millions of viewers, affirming the message: difficulties are only temporary barriers if we know how to overcome them, and that everyone can become a “resilient heart” in their own journey.
