Quach Van Son was born and raised in a poor family, his mother had terminal cancer. One time, when he went to a friend's house to borrow money to pay for hospital bills, Son unfortunately had an accident. When people took him to the emergency room, his whole body was motionless.
“At that time, although I couldn’t move, my mind was still completely awake. For the next few days, I kept dreaming about my mother, but when I wanted to call her, everyone kept making excuses to avoid me. I had a bad feeling, so I forced everyone to tell me the truth, but they told me that my mother had passed away. I was shocked and my condition worsened,” Quach Van Son shared.
From a healthy young man, Son had only a 4% chance of survival after the accident, becoming quadriplegic and almost completely losing the ability to move. Many times he thought of ending everything so as not to become a burden to his family. The passing of his father later made Son's life even darker.

But in his most desperate moments, the love and sacrifice of his aunt – Quach Thi Nung, who has been taking care of Son for over 10 years – helped him to recover. The appearance of Quach Thi Nung at the filming set of “Love Station” opened up a touching story about the journey of overcoming adversity of a Muong boy.
Quach Van Son has chosen a life full of determination. From his hospital bed, Son designed an electric winch, a rehabilitation machine for quadriplegics, opened a small grocery store to be financially independent, and especially, established a reading space at home.
Not a bookworm since childhood, Son turned to books as a place to shelter his soul, to forget his physical pain. From there, he built a community bookshelf right at home - a place where anyone could come to read, borrow, share knowledge and love. That bookshelf not only sheltered Son, but also became a warm destination for local people.

In 2024, Quach Van Son published his autobiography “Return to Rebirth”. The book has spread positive energy to the disabled community. Many readers after reading the book sent him deep gratitude. Reading his book, they not only felt sympathy and understanding, but also gained more determination to live a meaningful life.
In the future, Son hopes that his bookshelf will have more books, helping children in poor rural areas have more opportunities to access books. And the gift from “Love Station” will give him more strength on this humane journey.
Love Station with the theme “Bookshelf of Love” is a journey from seemingly insurmountable pain to a life built on knowledge, gratitude and perseverance. Quach Van Son’s story is a living testament to the power of love, human will and the desire to live a meaningful life.
