Queen Ngoc Tran's real name was Pham Thi Ngoc Tran, born in 1386, in Loi Duong district (now Tho Xuan district), Thanh Hoa province; passed away on March 24, 1425.
She was a loyal and devoted woman, devoted to defeating the Ming invaders and unifying the country with King Binh Dinh Le Loi.
According to historical records, in the early days of the Lam Son uprising, she joined Binh Dinh King Le Loi and other generals and soldiers in the battle. On March 24, 1425, when attacking Trao Khau citadel - Nghe An , Queen Ngoc Tran sacrificed herself to the water god on the Lam River so that the god would bless the insurgents to defeat the enemy.
