Solemn and meaningful 50th Anniversary of Khanh Hoa Province Liberation Day

On the evening of April 2, at April 2 Square (Nha Trang City), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Khanh Hoa Province (April 2, 1975 - April 2, 2025), towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the ceremony, on the Central side, there were Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; Nguyen Khac Dinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister. At the ceremony, Khanh Hoa province was honored to receive congratulatory flower baskets from General Secretary To Lam; President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. Also attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Justice ; leaders of a number of central ministries, departments and branches; leaders of provinces and cities in the country.

The ceremony was also attended directly by about 70,000 people and tourists at April 2 Square, along with a large audience watching on television.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh delivered a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of Khanh Hoa Province's Liberation Day. Thereby, reviewing the proud historical events of the army and people of Khanh Hoa Province 50 years ago, as well as the brilliant revolutionary tradition of the people and land of Khanh Hoa. The liberation of Khanh Hoa Province was a milestone added to the history of the 21-year long resistance war against the American invaders, full of sacrifices, hardships, but also very glorious. After the liberation, Khanh Hoa Province immediately embarked on the task of rebuilding its homeland and through many different periods, achieved proud achievements. In particular, in the period of 2020 - 2025, Khanh Hoa Province had 3 consecutive years of double-digit economic growth, ranking among the 10 provinces and cities with the highest growth in the country. In 2024, all 22/22 socio-economic targets were completed, with budget revenue reaching VND 20,500 billion, exceeding the plan assigned by the Central Government by more than 20%... On this occasion, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh also wished that the whole province would focus resources on realizing plans, developing key economic driving forces; clearing bottlenecks, increasing growth resources, promoting new driving forces; making breakthroughs in science and technology development, and innovation becoming driving forces. Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc sent congratulations to the Party Committee, government, army and people of Khanh Hoa province. With the potential, strengths, solidarity spirit, and steadfast revolutionary tradition, he hopes that in the coming time, the entire Party, people and army of Khanh Hoa province will need to promote more strongly, creatively apply, closely orient, and clearly identify breakthrough steps to create a solid foundation to enter the decade of raising the level of development, building Khanh Hoa province into a centrally-run city by 2030. In 2025, Khanh Hoa province is requested to focus on directing the preparation and successful organization of party congresses at all levels, the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030; promote new driving forces to achieve the goal of a decade of double-digit economic growth; Continue to streamline the organizational apparatus, especially the policy of arranging administrative units at all levels and building a two-level local government model with the highest determination, the most drastic actions, in the spirit of "work comes first", strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party, the consensus of the people, and well perform political tasks in the new period. The highlight of the celebration program is the art program with the theme Khanh Hoa - Entering a new era, including 3 chapters: Khanh Hoa - 50 years of victory songs; Khanh Hoa - Land of sublimated cultural heritage; Khanh Hoa - City of the future. The program has the participation of more than 200 professional singers, artists, actors from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa province and some provinces and cities in the region. Among them, there are famous singers loved by the audience such as: Tung Duong, Thanh Tai, Vu Thang Loi, Thanh Quy, Trong Thuong, Thien An... In addition, there is also the participation of 300 extras who are students from some high schools, universities, academies in Nha Trang city, soldiers of some military units under the province. Thereby, bringing to the audience special singing, dancing, and music performances recalling the heroic atmosphere of the liberation day half a century ago; praising the love and beauty of the homeland and country; emotions about President Ho Chi Minh... During and after the art performance, the audience also enjoyed a low-altitude fireworks display, creating a bustling atmosphere on the occasion of Khanh Hoa Province Liberation Day.
